So I finally took the plunge and got a dSLR. It just came in two days ago, and I absolutely love it. It lets me experiment with exposure and get feedback a whole lot better than my old 35mm did, and I think it's going to help me be a lot better photographer technically. Not to mention the fact that I don't feel shy about shooting lots of pictures now that each press of the button doesn't mean more $ spent.

I have a question though for anyone with experience with dSLRs. Do you shoot jpg or RAW files? (RAW files are made up of the unprocessed output of the camera's sensor, along with exposure inormation for those of you who were wondering.) And if you do shoot RAW files do you have a standard work flow for post-processing?

My camera is a Nikon D70s (went with Nikon to match the Nikkor glass that I already have), so I can't shoot tiff, and apparently the in camera processing on jpgs isn't the best.

This thread isn't at all what I thought it was going to be about.

This sucks.

A little bait and switch never hurt anyone. Much.
