What exactly do you do to celebrate Fat Tuesday?

So who is drinking green beer tonight? That's St. Pats day. I'll be drinking some Abita Amber though.

Or earning some beads? I might give some out.

Or doing fireworks? I'd suggest against this, since it is illegal to do so at this time in the calendar and according to the state.

What exactly do you do to celebrate Fat Tuesday? Have fun, splurge on whatever you're giving up for lent, and do the hibbidy dibbity, since tomorrow is a day of fasting/abstinence. That about covers it in a nutshell.

Whatever it is, count me in! :D

I think there are some places having partays such as VZD's and Pearl's.

I had some king cake today, but I didn't get the baby.

I forgot I am supposed to give up something for lent. But I am not Catholic so I think I am spared that requirement. :D

Get there early, b/c the line will succs no matter what.

You don't have to be Catholic to partake in the Lenten sacrifice. It is an act that prepares you for Easter.

A co-worker went off yesterday about the whole lent thing. I'm paraphrasing here:

....so you wanna look Jesus in the face and say "hey, I gave up red meat on friday's for a few weeks each year, its close to what you went through, right?"

40 days from tomorrow, not including Sundays. :D

If you're going there to eat, I'd call ahead and make sure theyre still serving. I know they probably have a limited menu most of the day and then it turns into mostly a party.

I'm jealous of all the ****ers on patios on Greenville Ave. drinking right now. And there were quite a few of them. What a great day for it.

Hung out at a house pretty close to St Charles Ave.; walked up & down the Ave.; saw a few folks; had a few beers; caught a few beads; ate a lot; enjoyed the awespme weather; came home; took a nap; got up and grilled some burgers.

I'm not into seeing float riders puke over the side. :rolleyes: !

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention... the friends' house where we camped out is a SOONER house, owned by a lawyer who wrestled at OU back in the 60s. His son is an OU grad who lawyers in Nashville. Both are die-hard Sooner fans. Nice.
