My new monitor has 2 dead pixels in it that aren't noticible except on bright screens.
Would you drag it back to Best Buy or just let it slide?
I'm teetering.

good luck with that... bestbuy may be different, but from manufacturers a it takes a certain number of deal pixels or a % to warrant a return

Dead Pixels would make a great band name.
Is this better or worse than "chip creep"?

Dead pixels can mean a couple of different things...either the pixel is in fact, dead and can't be resurrected, or it's merely "hung up" on one color.
Hung up or stuck pixels can be fixed by using the software available here:

I'd say the success rate is about 80%.

They TOLD me I could bring the whole thing back in a 2 week period if unhappy and I feel a little tear welling up.
Man, Battlefield 2 on a 21'' monitor is SWEET!
