They rescued them at the last second (as always). The secret service agent that's been on the show since the first season, pulled a Bauer and killed 3 of the terrorists, including blowing up one with a flame thrower.

I can't get over how much this president looks like Nixon, and probably acts like him; didn't Nixon and one of his aides have a famous prayer at one time during the watergate scandal?
