I see one major flaw to this.

They will still be in Lubbock, Texas the worst place on the face of the Earth.

they ought to lose the turf. it ain't 1980 anymore.

The school currently is spending $2.5 million to replace the field surface with field turf.

HALLELUJAH!!! :mack:

I like the architechture of their stadium and they've done a nice job with the most recent expansion, so this should be nice as well... Other than that, lubbock makes me sneeze.

That stadium still needs alot of work. They need to clean it up a bit.

i like the architecture too....even though it looks a little bit like a La Quinta Inn.

Tech has also recently built a new Tom Doak designed linksy University golf course...that gets nothing but positive reviews. sounds like they are doing something right out there.

19 Luxury boxes?!?!?!?

They'll just end up ripping out the expensive chairs and throwing them through the windows when they win anyway...

A luxury box in Lubbock has a fly swatter and a window that will go up and down.

Evere since Bobby Knight showed up there, things have done nothing but improve. He gets 1/3 of his salary from his endorsments, which saves the university millions over the long run

Will the money go towards officiating or have they already paid that off?

Half of Tech's stadium is cool. The other half looks worse then some HS stadiums.

And while Lubbock might be a terrible place, Tech is awesome.

When we played out there in 2001, which was my only trip to Lubbock, nobody was anything but gracious. Other than they are only required to go 8-1/2 yards for a first and ten, I have no problems with them.

wow theyre going with field turf instead of grass. big surprise. im surprised they dont install a concrete field to help their gimmicky offense run even faster

I just figured out the short first down thing. A friend told me a joke once, which may explain this:

Why are there no great women golfers?

(Answering and holding the index fingers about 5 inches apart)
Because they were always told that this is 10 inches.

See, when I was there in 1999, 2001, and 2003, they were nice, didn't act classless, etc. but last year, they were chanting "OU SUCKS!" and of course the "GOOO RAYYDERRRS!" thing.
