View Full Version : Best Bread to go with spaghetti

I told my mom I would bring bread to go with homemade spaghetti tomorrow. Usually we do garlic bread toasted in the oven. I am thinking of buying some sourdough rolls or something because I like dipping it in the olive oil and vinegar. Suggestions of places to buy it??

Oh and I mean traditional spaghetti served on a plate. I would never have "spaghetti" at my parents' house. That is just wrong.

There's nothing quite like spaghetti in the bed you grew up in. Makes ya feel kind of dirty. :)

E.V.O.O. is quite possibly the second most annoying abbreviation ever. That's my main complaint about Rachel Ray's show.

And to SBSB, Panera has some bread that would go well with spag, oil & vinegar, or whatever.

my mom gets some pretty good sourdough in Norman--probably at Albertson's or By for Less. it has the Conestoga Wagon on the label. they've got a jalapeno sourdough too.

Go to Albertson's bakery department and get the multi grain baguette. It's awesome. Whenever we get that, the whole family eats it until it's gone. Even the boy loves it and he's not much of a bread eater. Seriously. Get it.

They make hot dog buns? Are they better than Mrs. Baird's Potato Buns?

Since I'm on a posting frenzy, Albertson's makes really good birthday cakes too. Every time we get one from there, everyone comments on how good it is.

yeah, albertsons has good hot dog buns. theyre in the bread corner. i prefer them to mrs bairds. my fave hog dog buns are those of the fenway frank style. i'll go to a redhawks game just to eat a hot dog or 4.

yo, sbsb, after work or on lunch if you want better selection, head to big sky bread on western, its in the strip right next to hideaway. good bread. or panera, its good bread and not too spensive for what you get. the end.

If you haven't bought already:

The kalamata olive bread was a good suggestion. If you can find a rosemary wheat bread that would work very well, depending on how the gravy is spiced.
