So I'm doing some queries for another agency, and I come up with a client list, and one of the last names is spelled 'C-u-n-t-i'. (Hyphens removed).
I'm not sure how to pronounce it, but I'm thinking my first instinct is wrong. :O

It's pronounced like this: ****i, with the long *.
YWIA.

I am confused. Most of the time I see the * before the *. In that case, I think it may be a long or short * sound.

stick with the safe pronunciation, they can always correct you later. :D

or go with cOnti and apologize for the typo when you are corrected with the proper pronounciation.
Rule of thumb: * before *, except after *.
