The Texas Governor actually has very little power. The Speaker and Lt. Gov are the power brokers. And the Texas House is full of Republicans anyway.

GOP control of house, senate and whitehouse.

The Tom Delay/Jack Abramoff/Karl Rove/Dick Cheney/Scooter Libby backlash hasn't hit yet. And I don't know if incumbent Republicans are going to be able to ride the coat tails of Mr. 39% approval rating during the mid-term elections this Fall.

Even though the Republicans have shown themselves to be quite scummy, the Democrats don't really have the leadership necessary to turn things in their favor. I think they both suck. I'm voting for Ross Perot.

Huh? I guess you can call me a liberal, but that doesn't really hack me off... I'm just sad that people get so personal about all this. Isn't politics supposed to benefit the most people?

This is the dems best shot what with no candidate sitting in the VP chair at the moment. Of course, what do the dems do - they put Howard Dean in charge of the DNC. Doh. If the demcrats put forward Hillary, they will be giving the election to the republican nominee. The dems better hope that a moderate comes to the forefront and wins the nomination.

‘I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.’
‘I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.’
‘Hey, wait a minute, there’s one guy holding out both puppets!’

Go back to sleep America your government has it all under control....
