Is it me or do the Sooners share a strange parallel with the 2005 Dallas Cowboys? Think about it, both teams have had some bizarre games where they either pull it out in the end or find a way to lose it in the end.

Let's compare:

Sooners beat Texas Tech on the road in final seconds.
Cowboys beat Chargers on the road in final seconds.

Sooners rally from nowhere to beat Iowa State.
Cowboys rally from 20-7 fourth quarter deficit to beat Eagles on MNF (thanks in large part to TRRW).

Sooners blow 16-point second-half lead to Kansas.
Cowboys blow 13-point second-half lead to Redskins on MNF.

Sooners dominate Texas at home on national TV. OK, it was 10 points but it was still pretty dominant.
Cowboys dominate Eagles at home on national FOX TV broadcast.

Sooners let one slip away at Nebraska in unthinkable fashion.
Cowboys let one slip away at Seattle in unthinkable fashion.

Sooners nipped at home by Missouri in final seconds.
Cowboys nipped at home by the Broncos in overtime.

Sooners steal a victory at Texas A&M.
Cowboys steal a victory at Carolina.

Sooners play good first half, lousy second half on the road at Villanova.
Cowboys play lousy first half, good second half in road loss to NY Giants.

Sooners manhandled in home state by West Virginia.
Cowboys manhandled in home state by the Rams.

Sooners win one at a former house of horrors, Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Cowboys win one at a former house of horrors, Candlestick/3COM/Monster Park.

Sooners roll at home over downtrodden Baylor.
Cowboys roll at home over the downtrodden Lions.

Sooners lose at Colorado in a "how did we lose to these guys?" moment.
Cowboys lose at Raiders in a "how did we lose to these guys?" moment.

Now, if this trend continues....
Sooners pull one out at home over OSU, like the Cowboys did against the Chiefs.
Sooners get killed at Texas, much like the Cowboys did at Washington.

Bizarre, ain't it?

The only problem with this comparison is the fact OU is a pretty good basketball team that has a chance to do some serious damage in the postseason....

...meanwhile, Dallas was a mediocre football team that didn't even make the playoffs....

That's a rather significant difference.

True dat but the last-minute wins and losses is an apt comparision.Cardiac Sooners?

Do I know how to call it or what?

But unlike the Cowboys, the Sooners will be playing in the postseason tournament.
