REGULAR SEASON ENDS THIS WEEKEND
No. 14 OKLAHOMA HOSTS ST. CLOUD STATE

THIS WEEK’S GAMES - The No. 14-ranked University of Oklahoma® hockey club (17-11-2) gets back into action this weekend as they host ACHA D2 opponent St. Cloud State University (16-12-2) to close out the 2005-2006 regular season. This weekend’s games will be the first time that Oklahoma and St. Cloud State have met on the ice.

LAST OU HOCKEY GAMES – The Sooners hosted No. 11 Arizona two weekends ago, splitting a pair of games against the IceCats with a 7-3 win and a 5-3 loss.

RANKINGS AND NATIONAL TOURNAMENT – The Sooners are ranked 14th in the nation in the final regular season ACHA Coaches Division 1 ranking. As a result, the Sooners will compete in the ACHA Division 1 National Championship Tournament, hosted by West Chester University, on March 2-5, 2006 in suburban Philadelphia. The Sooners are seeded 12th in the National Championship Tournament and will face the 5th seed, the Iowa State University Cyclones, on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. EST. SCOUTING THE HUSKIES – St. Cloud State competes in the ACHA D2’s Western Collegiate Club Hockey Association. The Huskies played this past weekend in the WCCHA playoffs, where they lost to the University of Minnesota by a score of 9-5. The Huskies scoring attack is led by forward Kyle Honsey, who has 30 goals and 28 assists through 27 games this season. Honsey is followed by defenseman Cory Comstock (18-22-40), forward Tom Housh (14-23-37) and forward Derek Gessell (15-14-29). In net, the Huskies have split time between Nick Krygowski, who has a record of 9-5-1, a 6.63 GAA and a .802 save percentage in fifteen games this season, and Ethan Lyerly (5-2-0, 2.88 GAA, .866 sv, 7 games).

SOONERS HOME GAMES ON THE AIR – This weekend’s final OU Hockey regular season home games will be broadcast over the internet this season. Join Caleb Fox, a junior from Rowlett, Texas (play-by-play), and Keaton Fuchs, a junior from Norman (color), as they bring the hard-hitting, fast-paced action that is Sooners Hockey to you over the internet throughout the 2005-2006 season. OU Hockey broadcasts begin 15 minutes prior to faceoff. Oklahoma hockey fans can listen to the OU Hockey internet broadcast by going to either www.icehockey.ou.edu or www.broadcastmonsters.com and clicking the appropriate link.

SOONERS & CANADIAN AIR FORCE TO FIGHT CANCER – On Saturday, March 25th, the Sooners will play a charity game against the Canadian Air Force hockey team stationed at Tinker Air Force Base with all proceeds from the game to benefit the American Cancer Society. The game will be at 3:30 P.M. at the Blazers Ice Centre and admission will be $5 per person. For an additional $5, fans will be permitted on the ice after the game to have their pictures taken with their favorite players from both teams.

HOME SWEET HOME – Although formally known as Blazers Ice Centre, when the Sooners take the ice to “Oklahoma!” and “Boomer Sooner” blares over the sound system after every Sooners goal, the rink transforms into the “Sooners Ice Center”. All Sooners home games are played at 7:30 P.M. at Blazers Ice Centre, 8000 South I-35, in Oklahoma City.

TICKETS – Individual tickets for this weekend’s final OU Hockey home games of the 2005-2006 regular season are on sale now and can be purchased at Blazers Ice Centre. Call 631-3307 or 631-2709 for additional information.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE – The Sooners practice this week at the Blazers Ice Centre on Monday and Wednesday from 4:30-6:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 8:45-10:30 P.M.
