Started #1. Polls won't usually drop you far early in the season. At least not until you've got a few more series under your belt. They dropped to #7 after going 0-3 at San Diego. Then they won 2/3 in the tough Houston tournament and they stayed at #7. If they win tomorrow against Stanford, they will probably hold at #7. If they lose, they will probably drop.

That was a nice win against LongBeach State down in Houston! Very nice.

Good win against a good team and solid program.

BTW, the story in Soonersports.com referred to the LBSU team as the "Dirtbags". I also checked the LBSU athletic website and it refers to the baseball team as the "Dirtbags" while the BBall team is the 49ers. What's up with that???

This stood out to me too. I think it must be some sort unnofficial but accepted mascot like the Aggies is for OSU or the War Eagle is for Auburn. Just guessing though.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Dirtbags is the official name for Long Beach baseball, but only baseball. Kind of like how Hawaii football is the "Warriors" and the women's sports are "Rainbow Wahine".

Down 12-5 to Stanford today. I'd expect a pretty big drop in next week's polls for us no matter what happens the rest of the week.

Here is a Reader's Digest condensed version from the Long Beach website

I'm surprised there haven't been any protests about the women no being allowed to be WARRIORS too.
As for this years Sooner team, so far so good but then again we started well last year and tailed off before The Galloway Resurrection.

Texas A&M is undefeated with a three game sweep against Northern Colorado.
Now I'm sure the kids at N. Col. are good folks and all but I wonder if they had to wear snowshoes instead of spikes when their "spring" practice started?

That win against LBS was good mainly because we had our #3 pitcher going, I like the look of our team so far. If we can get some consistency out of McCutcheon we could be pretty salty

Are we anywhere near the top 25?
