I lived in Montgomery for a while during the period when the B-G was on life-support. At the risk of oversimplification, the B-G Game died from lack of interest. They couldn't get sponsors anymore and all the old
d00ds who used to make it happen retired and moved to Florida. They played the last one outside of the Crampton Bowl in Montgomery at Troy University in '04 I believe, but it didn't help. They finally pulled the plug in '05 and its gone.
