While in Muskogee, we stopped at Chili's and ate.....I ordered a beer and the waitress ID'd me. She looked, her eyes got big and she giggled..."tee hee, you're older than me!". Well, no ****.

Later a whole group of young folks came in and sat at a table. I guessed they might be football players from MHS or something. They all ordered drinks and nobody got ID'd. Crazy!!!

I've always looked young, so it isn't all that uncommon for me to get carded but it has been a while.

I got carded at a gas station in McAllen, Texas one time. Long story, but I didn't have my wallet with me, but I had my passport in my briefcase in the car. Dude wouldn't accept it as ID. I'm like, this is more of an official ID than a driver's license dummy. (I don't really know if it is more official, but it sure seems like it is).

I guess I was about 26 or so at the time.

I figure it is. When you fill out an I-9 at a new job, you either have to show a driver's license AND a SS card (or birth certificate) or you can just show a passport. Seems like a passport is worth any two other forms of ID.

The drivers license (or other government issued identification) establishes that you are who you say you are. The social security card, birth certificate, etc. establishes that you are a US citizen. With both of those covered you are eligible to work in the US.

Your passport should definitely count for letting you buy beer.

Not only did they card her, but since she didn't think anybody would be retarded enough to actually ID her, she didn't bring it with her. Grandma got no beer.
