afternoon snack. And the last jar of baby food left was a flavor of Sweet Potatoes. He has been iffy on some of the baby food flavors and I was thinking there is no way he will like this. He is in his high chair all excited due to his normal routined snack time. He sees the jar and gets all giddy. I open the jar and it smells like tomato paste.

Well, I figure it's already open so lets take a chance. Not only did he like it but he wanted more. Now usually curiosity gets the best of me and I give it a little taste. But this smell is making me think twice. I pass on the taste test and he eats what he wants from it.

Parents, any advice on which flavor your kids seem to favor when they were in this stage of life?

I'll admit, he surprised me on this one.

Any suggestions????

nope, he didn't upchuck - yet
just drippings, he has a small rash on his face so I try to wait until the end to wipe him down real good.

I can't think of a single type/flavor of baby food my son didn't like.

Now, when we graduated up to the level of food where it isn't all blended smooth and you have some chunks, there were some that I don't think he cared for the texture. And he'd never eat those baby ravioli finger foods. I don't blame him--they were slimy.

It's been many, many years since my son was an infant. Still, I seem to recall that he was partial to tittays. In fact, he'll be 40 this year and, so far as I know, his tastes haven't changed.

Mashed bananas. Just keep some around and fork 'em up into mush at snacktime. Tasty, nutritious and the kid used to inhale 'em.

pb4ou, first off, cute kid ya got there. Our boys will some day be playing Sooner football together I'm sure. Seondly,my son is just about to turn a year old. When he first started eating the dinners, fruits and desserts..he ate everything (and still does). Below is a pic of my son with his first experience eating "blueberry buckle" dessert several months ago. If you haven't fed your son that, give it a shot cause he'll probably like it best too. The other pic is him eating green beans, he's learned he was wasting way too much food back then and now he eats every bit.

Just don't **** up and give em' their first McDonald's french fry. All that squash, beans, and beets will go out the window, and you'll have an obese junk food junky on your hands who will bawl until you give him fries and a milk shake.

When you feed your kid do you open your mouth when the spoon is going for the mouth then close it when he closes his. My wife did this with our kids! Cracked me up!!!
