The Mayor thread got me thinking. We need an official thread just to say "great job" to the soldiers overseas and at home. They are some of the bravest and hard working people I know and I want them to know that I appreciate them doing the work that I am too lazy to do myself..

Absolutely,

There is no finer duty, save maybe the clergy, as an individual willing to sacrafice his self-interests, safety, and life for the sake of his home, his neighbors, and fellow citizens. Perhaps it's becuase I come from a military family, and I myself am not that I consider these individuals finer men and women in every respect than I ever will be.

There is no way to truly honor their level of sacrafice, but I'd encourage everyone to do whatever they can in whatever little way to make our troops life a little more comfortable. Send a care package and supplies, donate to a charity for the fallen; hell if you see them at your favorite restaurant or bar then buy 'em a round.

They are and always have been our best.

My sister and nephews (1 and 3 yo) are staying with me while my b-i-l serves overseas, so I am seeing firsthand the kinds of sacrifices these guys are making for us and their country.

We owe them more than we can ever repay. Whenever I meet someone on active duty or a veteran I try to thank them for their service.

To any servicemember who reads this, thank you for your service!

They are doing one hell of a job, no matter what the loons on the left say in their hate speech. (What are the chances they post here, huh?)

God Bless Our Troops!

My younger brother is currently stationed in Germany and the difference the army life has made in him is nothing short of astounding.

Glad to see you give someone in uniform and the army a positive comment for once. This is sorely lacking from people of your ideology, and that is truly a sad thing IMO.

Good job though.

Don't turn a Pro Troops thread into an anti Bush thread. Geeze Josh, we'll have to start calling you Cindy before long. ;)
