It's hard enough to win arguements with spouses that aren't trained in the arts.

at least maybe you could have a rational argument ;)

Debates have rules. Arguments with your spouses rarely do (at least the husbands are rarely privy to them anyway).

I assumed they were all debate team captains.

Man, it would be so much fun to ruffle their feathers.

"You're wrong because of so and so and such and such! And that's solid proof!"

"...nuh-uh... You smell."

I'll never forget when my attorney wife and I were having a discussion early in our marriage, and her response to me was "your argument is unpersuasive."

I was the entire debate team in Highschool and I went to law school. I still can't win an argument with my wife.

Obviously, she still slept with you at least once anyway.

Marrying a Master-Debator is not wise on several levels!

Yes, because most of the time she'd make you the master of bater.

Add me to the list of high school debaters that are marital argument losers.

It doesn't matter how good the argument is, hormones and emotions trump any rational arguement that a man can put forward.

Was it an arguement or a pleading? And by pleading, I think you know what I mean.

The problem in marital spats is simply the fact you can be absolutely justified in your wrath, correct on the facts, and capable of forming a cogent, rational and objectively persuasive argument complete with ample citations to earlier precedents...and still be called an insensitive jerk and have to sleep on the couch.

just saying.
