At this time next year, my nefarious scheme to outlaw Valentines Day will be coming to fruition.... yes.. it is time for us men to stand up as ONE and say.. NO NO. we will NOT give into an artificial holiday created by a greeting card company simply to allow them to increase their profits when no discernible holiday is in sight.
NO! I say.. NO!
Our spouses, girlfriends, significant others and/or mistresses, must come to realize that we men WILL communicate more with them.. that we do NOT need a holiday the sole purpose of which is to increase the coffers of Hallmark, to simply tell them we:
1). love them;
2). like them;
3). tolerate them, or
4). like having sex with them.
In a few years, I will be known as the Man Who Did Away with Valentine's Day.. and will accept my place on being enshrined in the Man's Hall of Fame.

I think Valentine's Day is just a day to show appreciation for ladies in general, like I bought my Mom some roses and I got some baloons for my niece. I think girls get **** on for most of the rest of the year. So it is nice for them to get the emotional support for one day at least.

I wouldn't mind VD so much if I didn't have to pay $80 for a dozen roses just to ensure that my wife is not the only one in the office who didn't get a delivery. If they came with a half-gallon of Johnny Walker I could understand.

I hate the compulsory nature of the "holiday". I love to spoil the wife, just not when it's expected. I dropped a decent coin on these beauts, plus a sweater from Ann Taylor.
