Someone I know is selling a Mitsubishi 42" Platinum series HDTV for $750 used. Is this a good deal? It is in great condition and I trust the guy completely. He is moving to Austin and just doesn't have the room in his new house for it. If $750 is not good, what is a good price for this TV? Thanks for your help.

If thats a price you want to pay, then go for it. you won't find anything like it new at that price.
BTW Give him My name and Number. He will be needing a new one right?
