Yeah, "Byzantine" is kewl, but wait 'til you get to use "Brobdignagian" when addressing a group!
The stunned looks! The dewy eyes and long-drawn erotic sighs of the women present. The consternation among the males. (Well, one male uttered a sigh and was a tad dewy, but I had my lackeys defenestrate him...yuk!)

Use "niggardly" sometime and watch the **** hit the fan. It is advisable to have a Webster's handy when doing so.

I'm studying for the GRE, and there sure are a lot of stupid and unnecessary words in the English language.

True dat. I had a linguistics professor use the word niggardly on a test once. He had to throw out the question because so many people complained about it. Pathetic. This was an upper level linguistics class, and no one saw the humor in it.
