That's the one scene in the commercial that makes me not want to see the movie. Well, that and the part about "From the creators of Anchorman...."

I want to like Will Ferrel's movies, really I do. He was a genius on SNL. But his movies succs. Maybe he's only funny five minutes at a time.

I don't know many people that will agree with that.I don't.

Anchorman has just classic scenes in it.

Will Ferrell: So I pick you up, 8 o'clock? Mmm. Nine. Downstairs?
Christina Applegate: Mr. Burgundy you have a massive erection.
Will Ferrell: Really? Yes, I do. Uh, I sorry. It's the pleats. It's actually an optical illusion, it's the pattern on the pants. It's not flattering in the crotchal region.

Will Ferrell: It's the greatest city in the history of mankind. Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Di-ah-go, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.
Christina Applegate: No, there's no way that's correct.
Will Ferrell: I'm sorry, I was trying to impress you. I don't know what it means. I'll be honest, I don't think anybody knows what it means anymore. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago.
Christina Applegate: Doesn't it mean Saint Diego?
Will Ferrell: No.
Christina Applegate: No. That's what it means.
Will Ferrell: Agree to disagree.

Paul Rudd: She gets a special cologne. It's called Sex Panther, by Odeon. It's illegal in nine countries. Yup, it's made with bits of real panther, so you know it's good.
Will Ferrell: It's quite pungent.
Paul Rudd: Oh yeah.

Not the funniest movie evar...but danged worth the cost of admission and I'll buy it when it hits DVD.

"Every morning when I get up, I p1ss pure excellence":texan:

That whole exchange about praying to baby jebus was hilarious.

The red-headed kid ("Texas Ranger") is from Clanton AL and was perfectly cast..."Old man, I'll be on you like a spider monkey!"

Mrs Homey observed they were pretty kind to NASCAR fans and instead focused on the insanely commercial aspect of the "sport" of stock-car racing. I think that was a good move b/c if they had explored/parodied the whole fan scene there might have been some backlash against the film in the red states.

Scout,
Did you notice that John C. Riley played the same role in "Talladega Nights" he had in "Boogie Nights?" Kind of a loyal, kinda dumb, sidekick who finally had to stand on his own two feet when the super-star self-destructed -- 'cept of course they were NASCAR stars, not 70's porn stars.
