Toilet Paper: Over or Under?

I insist that the TP goes over the spindle. Well this past week, someone put a new roll on the spindle at work and they rolled it under. So I took it off and put it on the right way.

Simple rule of thumb:

1) If there are kids in the house, roll toward the wall, under. Reason: Kids will hit the roll to make it roll over the top. They are stymied if it won't come over the top.

2) If there are no kids, roll toward the front, over.

That is all.

Actually I think it's mostly that the holder is inconveniently placed. A bit low for me. So it's almost easier to hold the roll in my left hand than try to reach over to where the holder is.

but my bathroom is retarded and doesn't have one on the wall... so i have this dumb toilet paper holder stand and it's almost just easier to just set the roll on top of the holder.

Generally I'm not too concerned about putting it on the holder since there are bigger things to be distracted by. like the half-peeled-off wallpaper that's half painted over and half sprayed with flecky crap. oh, and the lack of base moulding (the wooden trim by the floor). and that air vent is just a hole in the concrete with a plastic grate laying on top of it.

well, the guy who lived here before our parents bought it liked to "fix" things himself. and he sucked at it.

Why? (I hear you ask.) Well, it discourages my feline felons, Miss Monicat Meowinsky (AKA "Queen of The Universe") and Winchester T. Katt, from toying with it. If it's "over" they will unfailing unroll the whole danged thang!

There's worse things, however. One of my previous cats, the late and lamented Nimrod, once, apparently, perched on the toilet tank and, raising his posterior appendage in a graceful arc, "watered" the roll that had been freshly installed in the guest bath. This was unknown to me at the time.

A young lady, for whom I had "plans", came over to sample my Grilled Dove Bosoms ala John. Post dining, she excused herself and headed for the tinkleatorium. After a few moments I heard a loud "Eeeeeek!" and the damsel exited the inner sanctum in high dudgeon. It took a soothing shower and a massage to convince her that it wasn't I who had anointed the papyrus in a perverted attempt at marking my territory.

You'da thunk she'd notice the aroma of Eau de Tomcat BEFORE she reached for the roll.
