The ride wasn't too terrible. Coach slept most of the way and I got inside scoop on goings on of the soccer club.

the hotel SUCKS. it used to be a Radisson, now it's something else and it's just not good. First thing when I got here, I took a shower, reached for a towel and YUCK, they smelled sour, like they had been in the washing machine too long. I dried off with a hand towel and called and asked for clean towels...

then i want to take a nap since i woke up at 3:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep....i NEVER lay down on the bedspread, no telling what is on them and they never get washed, right...so i take the bedspread off and on the blanket, there's...let's just say...someone else's bodily fluid, all crusty on the blanket..

YUCK

I called front desk and they brought me a new blanket, but I was still pretty disgusted so I talked to the manager and she moved me to a new room, and gave me a 10% discount. I think she should have comped at least one night.

To top it off, there's no wifi or high speed internet here in the hotel. They have a "business center" with a 1985 compaq computer that is hooked up to dial-up. It's the kind of computer that is so slow that after you type a word, you have to wait for the letters to catch up to what you're typing.

anyway....

NEXT TIME I'M STAYING AT THE MARRIOTT!!!!!

Your mistake was going anywhere near Central. Lots of Cops episodes taped there.

yeah GDC I've seen a few cops episodes. A friend of mine grew up in Artesia and told me to check out *****cat video on Central. This was back in 1996.
I have never been so freakin' scared in my life. That place is bad news.

Not as bad as what we went through the following morning in Kingman Arizona though

What happened in Kingman?

well, we get there the following day and I take my then 1 year old to the pool and then some people bring in their pit bull to the pool area. Well that went okay as I was able to leave and take my son to the room with no incidents. the next morning we wake up, shower, and get ready to leave and i open the door to take my bags down and there are cops everywhere, Guns drawn telling me to get back inside and keep the door locked. Well, right beside us and below us they are doing a drug bust. It was pretty wild.
they had a couple cars completely torn down in the parking lot. We ended up locked in our room for about 2 hours until they came and told us it was okay to leave. Turned out to be the same people with the dog.

That would be a typical day on Central as well. Glad your family was okay.

This sounds interesting brat. Keep us updated.

For some reason I foresee your being kept up all night due to hotel neighbor's getting it on late into the night and morning.

I could've helped you avoid this . . . the Homewood Suites on Arvada would've been much nicer.

Our first year in Albuquerque we drove down to the zoo . . . I proudly pointed out a few hotels I had seen on Cops. :D

I remember anytime they were filming the show the camera team would be on the local radio shows. It was pretty hilarious.

i kinda would have liked to hang out in ABQ a bit, we basically just just stopped for gas and sleep

the view at night coming into the city from the West on I-40 was pretty cool

Our house in Albuquerque had a wonderful view of the Sandias from the front decks. The back deck looked toward Grants - the lights were gorgeous at night. I used to love looking at that view.

I bet if you had one of those black light thingies, that place would light up like a planetarium. Here a spooge, there a spooge, everywhere a spooge-spooge.

I didn't pick the hotel. the team manager booked it, and we are required to stay with the rest of the team...trust me, i would've stayed at the marriott because i can get a family discount there.

2-3 other families have changed rooms too and I think some of them are ready to change hotels. One family is sharing their room with a family of roaches, Another room's toilet flooded..it's just a mess.

bad bad bad. plus the hotel is like 25 miles from teh soccer complex...this is just stupid.

I think our manager was trying to get us moved to a different hotel because so many of us had complaints, but most of them are full. I think we need about 12 rooms.

we stayed in querque about 3 weeks ago. motel was OK, but not nice.
found no "spoogem". (good word).

left next morning, & saw motel/hotels that looked much better,
on west side of town. think they were around unser/coors.

passed thru on way back, a week ago yesterday. stated in grants, at holiday
express. it was nice & clean. passed thru alb @ about time bush 43 left.

remember passing thru there on old 66, back in summer of 56. before I-40.
took long time to drive thru there. town was built along old 66. now it
takes time, due to bunches of traffic.

luxor was nicest place we stayed, on our trip to vegas/california.

Fun story:

The Wife Unit was at a seminar where another prosecutor was describing his problems with a rape case that took place at a reputable hotel. In order to help prove the case, they took the bedspread for DNA testing.

They found over 1000 possible donors.

We NEVER TOUCH THE BEDSPREADS.

NEVER.
