Most times when a stranger approaches my dog -
she rolls over on her back and pees on herself.

You have to stop letting 1TC train your dog.

Is it a dachsund?Nope. One of 2 Jack Russel Terriers. The other one likes to watch tv and bark at the animals.
She has her own programs on Tivo and lets us know when it's time for her to watch.

<sigh> my dog did that the first week I had her. She grew up on the streets of Denver and was apparently beaten by some tough guy in her formative years. She will still do that if strangers (to her) come over and I'm not in the room with the stranger and her.

It's really weird because she's the dominant one of the two.
And neither one is afraid of no other dogs regardless of size.

PH, my dog is the same way. She can't be around other dogs if I'm around or she tries to kill them. It's not a pretty sight.

i was gonna post a dog-p!ssing thread too, but i'll just use this one. maybe some of you dog knowing about people can help.

i bought a maltese for my daughter almost a year ago. dog is smart as a whip, and was a breeze to potty train. he's been scratching at the back door when he needs to go out since he was eight weeks old.

about a month ago, he peed on my Brucespensive down comforter. i didn't make a big deal about it.........

since that time, he's peed on the comforter 3 more times. not anywhere else, just on the comforter.

why?

i'm sure the dry cleaners loves my increased business - but one more time and i'm sending him to live with 1TC. they'll have a blast whizzin' all over each other.....

your dog is letting you know that he is the boss of you and is a little angry that a person like yourself thinks that you are in charge of him.

Or the down comforter is nice and soft on his paws when he's taking a whiz.

Weird, that's what Pat did when we met last July........

It's because y'all were shaking my weenis (see handwashing thread).

And that wasn't pee.

I'd say it's because the pee smell is already there.

When I got my first JRT about 7 years ago, I was laying on the couch watching tv and I feel something warm running down my back.
I look over in horror and that bitch is on the back of the couch squatting over me peeing!
I took her outside and spanked the snot out of her.
She never did it again but she's real head strong and I guess she thought she was establishing the pecking order.

Funny huh?

When somebody would come over, even somebody she knew but wasn't a member of the immediate family, and pet or talk to our dog she would squat and pee. She doesn't do it any more but then again, we warn everybody that comes over and the family members know so maybe that's why. She's a Cocker Spaniel and I think that's a pretty common problem with them.
