Anybody hear Stoops interview on Thursday on Rivals Radio? It was more inciteful than his usual coach-speak to the local media.

During discussion on Adrian Peterson, he talked about how AD ran a 4.43 recently and Jerry S said not to run another but when AD found out some other guys were running better times he went out and ran a 4.35. Sorry about the run-on sentence.

Rivals radio is on ch123 in the morning, I have basically stopped listening to the commercial animal and gone to this channel instead. Lots of recruiting talk on basketball, too.

Hopefully AD can translate that type of speed into our new offensive system next season. :D

a 4.35? wow that is impressive.

Believable too.

One of my favorite AD plays is when Bradley takes a reverse against UH in 2004, and he is streaking down the sideline with a convoy. AD comes in the picture all of a sudden, and takes off in a sprint and puts distance between him and Bradley, who was the fastest guy on the team.

It's around the 1:10 mark on LASooner's awesome video.

AD at 4.35....that's got to be illegal.......Is there a WAY;) to keep him for his senior year? It's a shame he had to play hurt, and with a 2nd rate OL last year.

So does this mean that his ankle is 100% now? If it's not, just think how fast he can get. The last stat that I heard on his vertical was 43 inches.

I heard he made a guys head explode just by giving him the Shooter McGavin pistol point.......Seriously

Anywho, yes 4.35 is flat out sick!

I heard he breaks through buildings for the police to capture their crook. Otherwise yes 4.35 is outstanding

Should we be using him to block field goals, too?

speaking of blocked F.G.s and Punts. Doesn't it seem OU has really fallen off in that area as of late

It's because they changed that rule so that when you jump up to block one, you aren't allowed to land on anyone else - even your own teammates. So jumping forward over the linemen to block the kick (which used to be Woolfolk's specialty, right?) is illegal.

Yeah, our February special teams production has been really non-existent ... :D

Yes. Not just in blocks either....I think we were last or second to last in the BigXII in punt return ydg as well. Hartley was pretty good, but he wasn't automatic.

We need to pick up the special teams play to early-decade form if we're gonna make a run at the crystal in 06

I think Taj Gray or Bookout need to play special teams for us

Scarey thing is that by the start of the season, with all of AD's hard work with Schmidtt, He could be at a 4.3 FLAT! Who knows what is gonna happen...

Wait till we get Reggie taking back punts and Demarco and Reggie taking back kick-offs.....SCARY!

As for kicking, Hartley should improve this year and Freeby showed a lot of promise coming on strong toward the end of the year.

This year we need to go get a good kicker recruit and a solid punter though....

We don't block anymore kicks because lost Woolfolk and his rocket shoes.

am i crazy? was Mike not the ST coach?

i wasn't complaining about Mike, per se, but i feel like we have dropped off on all facets of Special Teams since the 2003 season

There have only been two special teams coaches in the Stoops regime, Jonathan Hayes and Bob Stoops.
