View Full Version : Valentine's Day

What do you all think? Is V-Day just a holiday for women or a couple's holiday? As a guy I've never expected to get anything (usually don't) but of course it's little short of a requirement to do something for your woman.

My wife said "I don't really want anything this year."

I think I'll just go with that.

We traditionally celebrate it a day or two before.

She doesn't like the crowds either.

I like to call Valentine's Day "Tuesday."

Seriously. I have never in my entire life had a real Valentine's Day. Junior high and high school sucked because all the other girls got roses and balloons and crap from their boyfriends. I got flowers too, but they were from my dad.

Maybe if I ever had a real Valentine's Day it would be different.

There was a good skit on SNL last week. It was set to that music from the really famous jewelry ads, the classical string piece, but it was a commercial for "a teddy bear holding a heart," for all the know-nothing, procrastinating guys.

I've always been soooo good at planning and soooo bad at executing.

I'm seeing a girl at Rice right now and my plan was to send her to the spa all day followed by some sort of cultural event at Rice in the evening such as a symphony, opera, something along those lines. However there is apparently NOTHING going on. So now I'm dejected and thinking maybe I'll just get her a card.
