My house has a wrap around porch that has paint peeling badly. Apparently the painter (the bastage) used a latex paint with no primer when he painted it and now the paints peeling. I'm going to go back and use a primer after I've sanded and scraped it and then go over it with an oil based porch paint and the only problem is it a huge porch.

I want to make sure this is what I need to do before I start.

Are there any house painting pros that could help me out?

Also free beer to anyone that wants to help. :D

Try a power washer instead of sanding. Just go to Home Depot and rent one. Much less labor involved. Let dry, prime and paint away.

Plus you can spray your wife, dog or whatever with the power washer.

I would recommend going to Anchor Paint in Tulsa but I'm biased.

Also, you might give that lawn a fresh coat of green.;)

Right, I used Anchor all the time when I lived in Tulsa.

Hey that porch and skirt really did a great job of covering up the wheels!

Yeah, it's a mobile 112 year old Victorian Farmhouse... they're old wagon wheels under there....;)

Modern Marvels did a show on paint last night.
You'd be amazed at what all goes into paint, very interesting process.

Hope that helps.
