Anybody else see Match Point? We saw it this weekend. As usual, the best Woody movies are the ones he isn't in, as least since 1990 or so. I though it was really good (if depressing, it's not a comedy) and Czar was kind of meh.

This review pretty much sums it up. (http://theedge.bostonherald.com/movieReviews/view.bg?articleid=120074)

Scarlett Johanssen is apparently Woody's new Diane Keaton, she's also in his next movie. Woody's got her looking so good in this move, you guys could prolly go and stare at her for two hours even if you hate Woody Allen movies.

Does scarlett get nekkid?

OR....is the rain/field/sex scene as good as the previews perk it up to be?

She doesn't get nekkid. You'll need Czar to weigh in with a dude's perspective on whether it was "good enough" or not.

I haven't decided if I like Scarlett Johnansson's looks or not. She is attractive at times but very young. However, her appearance at the recent Golden Globe Awards raised some eyebrows.

As for Woody Allen, I hated the fact that Annie Hall beat out Star Wars for the Best Movie award back in 1977. However I was only 12 and didn't truly know a good movie when I saw it. Once I went back and watched it, I found it hysterical. His new stuff I don't like so much.

I don't think I like your tone of voice.

She is pretty hot. So I'd watch it again. :mack:

But I hate British people and the movie was suppose to be a "thiller". It was not exciting at all, kinda boring really.

His early stuff, especially "Take the Money and Run" and "Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex but were Afraid to Ask," was pretty funny. Now, not so much, although a movie he had a few years ago, "Small Time Crooks," sort of evoked the spirit of his '60s and '70s salad days.

I like Woody, esp. his early stuff. He got a bum rap for dating "young".

Oh suck it. ;)

Bullets Over Broadway is in my top six of all time. (Tied for fifth with Raiders of the Lost Ark.) But I agree the earlier stuff is generally better. Sleeper, Bananas, Everything You Wanted to Know about Sex. Good, good stuff.
