My girlfriend lives in this area "uptown." Luckily she's moving in a month. It's a lot of fun, lot to do, good food and such, but the abundance of these choads is amazing. It's amazing how many people drive 50,000 dollar cars and live in a 500 sq ft 1 bedroom. (Which costs $700 to rent.)

There was an amusing infomercial skit on SNL this week with a guy claiming to have the secret of getting out of debt. His solution? If you don't have any money, don't buy anything.

It was pretty funny, and with all the "well duh" stuff being marketed nowadays, I'm surprised someone hasn't already tried it. Dr. Phil has made a mint off of that kind of advice.

isn't Dave Ramsey like the Dr. Phil of that stuff?

I dunno, but its amazing how stupid people are about basic personal finance.

And the credit card companies are laughing all the way to the friggin bank with it. They should make those things tougher to get or something. CC debt is destroying the savings rate in this country.

Heh.....

Not to sound like Bruce, but my income ain't in the 30's. ;)

This was one of the first things I noticed when I moved to Dallas though. Families living in apartments, driving BMW's and H2's. Quite funny actually.

Yea.....even I know that sunglasses at night aren't optional, but rather a MUST!

Yes, Dave at least is much more specific than Dr. Phil.
