Those cats all got at least 15 years on me, and they still rawked the Sooper Bowl halftime extravaganza.

They did good but Mick needs to keep the jacket on. His saggy underarms were gross.

I actually thought they sounded rather bad compared to how I'm used to hearing them live...

Was still 10000000000000000000000000000000% better than some pop sensation that MTV puts on there.

Heh. My parents are here visiting from Mississippi.

Helluva day for 'em. First, we took them to a non-denom. Christian church this morning that my mom said was "too multicultural."

Then, tonight they get a load of a 62 year old Peter Pan Englishman struttin' around - and they know I got twisted in the Superdome the first time I saw them in 1978.

Good times!

I've got to agree with you on both points. Didn't sound good (same three chords for ten minutes), but better than Ashlee Simpson.

Incredibly boring.

Why is a British band playing the Super Bowl? Especially in Detroit?

Bring in The Dirtbombs, The Detroit Cobras, Iggy Pop, Bob Seger, Ted Nugent -- someone, anyone (outside of ICP) from Detroit. Would have been much more enjoyable.

Loved it. Loved the sparkly jacket. Loved the tight pants. Loved the stage. We DID decide, though, that if the drummer was any good, he would have thrown his sticks into the crowd. I rocked out with my roomate, and we both decided he's the hottest old guy around.

Now I love me a good stones show as much as the next guy (even though I've only seen em live 5 times). The SB show though was not up to spec for them though. granted, It was still better than MTV-type-music that bowl game halftime shows have become (even those with wardrobe malfunctions), and maybe it was the fact that I saw it over TV, but it just wasn't loud enough, long enough, or unique enough. it was kinda bland...for them that is.

Im thinking though, that from now till the end of time, the NFL will resort to paleo-rockers for halftime, since they know as well as everyone else that nobody wants to see them have a wardrobe malfunction.

Charlie Watts never tosses his drumsticks. He just sits there and does his job, takes a bow at the end and walks off.

I wouldnt know, but thank you for informing me. :)

That's true old-school. You don't have to throw stuff at the crowd, because you already know you rock.

Everything was bad...

But the Pre-Game was MUCH worse than the halftime show. Remember when the star spangled banner actually sounded like the star spangled banner?

Paul McCartney last year was great, The RS really sounded bad, and out of tune, maybe it was the mix. I was not moved the way I was last year with live and let die. Still was much better than the MTV garbage.

I would spek them if they did "Brown Sugar."

As is, not so much. In fact, all of the music was sub-par last night. Stevie was cool, but the audio seemed messed up.

Folks, get a grip - it WAS (*&#@!*$ HALF-TIME fercryinoutloud. If you say anything good about these overblown extravagnzas, the NFL will only give us more crapola! So stop it. You want Rock & Roll? Buy some CDs or watch some VH1 or sumfin.

Jagger was singing about every other line of lyrics, maybe. I've always been of the opinion that if all the dancing and gyrating gets you out of breath to the point to where you can't sing, then stand still and sing instead.

This half-time show brought to you by Geritol and Depends.

Impressive they are still playing. Sounded like they phoned it in to me. As long as it keep some shallow MTV type off the stage I guess it's OK with me.

I don't get the fascination with the Stones. They sucked when they didn't suck.
Sure, white boy blues is kinda cool but they were worse than bad during the halftime of the foosball game.

I like the Stones, but that performance sucked. Like Rhino said, they should have got a local act from Detroit instead. I bet Kid Rock or Eminem would have been more than happy to do that show.
