It's always fun - especially when you've got kids with you. GO GREEN KNIGHT!

I went there a few years ago on a band trip. It was a lot of fun...I also was on the Green Knight's side!

I've seen it passing through Dallas a few times. Always wondered what it was all about. Just went to the website and saw the $$$ for it. Is it really worth that amount? What all goes on there?

They have guys doing fancy tricks on horses and a falconry demonstration where the falcon flies around the arena over your head which the kids loved. Then the king comes out and announces that he needs a new champion and proposes a tournament to select the new champion from his finest knights. The knights have a competition including swordfighting and jousting. Each knight picks a 'lady-fair' from the audience who they are supposedly fighting for. Then the bad guy appears at the end to try to overthrow the king and chaos ensues. Before I went the 1st time I thought the price was outrageous. After having been I understand the overhead that must go into the production with all the actors and maintaining the horses, etc. Plus it includes a feast which included vegetable soup, garlic bread, a 1/4 baked chicken a sparerib and dessert. We try to go once a year.

Dolly Parton's Dixieland Stampede is kind of like the effing hillbilly version of Medieval Times.
