The REAL McCoy: :D

One of Texas A&M's newest recruits stirred up a bit of controversy while commenting to his local newspaper about signing his letter of intent to attend the university on Thursday, which gave some the impression that he was claiming that he would be paid to play for the Aggies.

Terrence McCoy, a wide receiver from Midland Lee High School, was quoted as telling the Midland Reporter-Telegram that he knows from his brother Jamie that the Aggies "keep your pockets full, give you plenty of money, keep feeding you meals." Jamie is a redshirt freshman quarterback at the school.

McCoy clarified his baffling comments on Thursday, stating that he was referring to how they would help him find a job when he's not playing , and NCAA-approved meal reimbursements. According to his former coach at Midland, he felt McCoy's quotes were taken out of context, but advised the youngster to be more careful about the way he phrases things in the future.

When asked about the misquote, Texas A&M head coach Dennis Franchione adamantly stressed that no one breaks the rules at the university and excused McCoy for not finding the exact right words to say. He added that Texas A&M supports their student athletes to the fullest extent allowed by NCAA <http://college.realfootball365.com/> rules.

The six-foot-four 200 pound McCoy recorded 43 receptions for 735 yards and with six touchdowns during his senior year at Midland.
