You should just be able to copy/paste the text. I realize it wouldn't have the nifty joint chiefs of staff logo and stuff but at least we'd get the idear.

I looked at the cartoon. It is a tasteless cartoon aimed at a tasteless individual.

i'm not sure i follow what all the uproar is about, i don't think anyone looks at that and laughs at the state of the soldier

it's more of an illustration of how big of a scumbag the artist thinks Rumsfeld is

I also thought it was a shot at Rumsfeld, not the soldier. To me, it said that the soldier has already done his duty and should be allowed to leave the service, but Rumsfeld keeps sending them back.

Anyone else find the term "reprehensible cartoon" odd, especially coming from the Joint Chiefs of Staff?

It seems odd to me that they even replied to such crap. The cartoon is, as they say, "beyond tasteless." Because the damage is done, it doesn't make sense to attract more attention to it through a public letter.

Then again, it may help decrease their readership, which may not be a bad thing.

Sincerely,

I was completely thinking of the cartoon of Mohammed that has the muslim world in uproar until the linky

the artist compared the readiness of the army to a quadriplegic, during a time when we have soldiers losing limbs

it was tasteless.....there are other ways to take shots at Rumsfeld

I agree, it was tasteless.

But, at a time when half of the world is up in arms about a silly cartoon of a diety w/ a bomb resting on his turbon, anyone that doesn't recognize that freedom of speech (the very First Ammendment) is probably the major aspect which seperates America from the Muslim World (especially during the "War on Terror") is seriously missing the point.
