yeah yeah i know the recruiting for this year is over but this kid is a freak. People say he is better than his brothers Rick and Casey. The thing is he has us on his list. He is the top junior in his class. He's a blue chipper no doubt. Possibly the NUMBER 1 prospect for next year. Think we'll land him? or will he continue the tradition at tennessee or will the condoms get him(the last thing the whole world wants to happen)

I saw an Outside the Lines featuring him and they closed the show by saying it will probably come down to Notre Dame and SUC.

Isn't OU supposed to be in on this QB from Enid that's supposed to be a "blue chipper"???

I think he's being looked at more for the D side of the ball than O.

Jeremy Crabtree was on with Al and he said that Clausen would probably end up at Notre Dame. Jeremy's early guess anyway.

It amazes me that these recruiting 'experts' know where a kid is going when the kid doesn't even know. All of them will say ND, because that's what they want.

I expect us to be in the hunt for some major blue chip QBs next year. Rhett will be good this year, and people will want to follow. These are the ones that interest me:

Whoever we get, I hope it's a lefty. I'm getting bored of these right-handers.

G.J. Kinne is one that I think will get. Stoops likes having a coachs son at QB.

RUSH LIMBAUGH is my clone!

I would rather Clausen go to the suc than "that other place".

Heupel and Bomar, any others? I think the one difference with the 2 I mention is that Heupel's dad is a class act and Jerry Bomar......well......;)

I played for Jerry Bomar for three seasons and whatever you have to say about his class, I can tell you this: 1) he's a hell of a competitor; 2) he was someone who would stand up for what was right in a clutch situation; 3) he was an offensive genius compared to the coaching we had seen; and 4) I've never seen or heard of a HS coach who was more gifted at developing quarterbacks and teaching them how to read defenses.

My freshman year he took a baseball pitcher who had never played a down of football, started them, and had him win 1st team all district while turning our program from 3-8 to 7-5. The next year we went to the state championiship.

My junior year he took another baseball player (recruited from another highschool) and he was first team all-district as well.

A lot of what you see in Bomar is not just Jerry Bomar's genepool (OK at best - he was a DB at Tech with some speed), but his Dad's football smarts.

I think Coach Bomar won state titles at class 3A Groesbeck, and and i believe at Killeen HS as well. I don't think he's done much since he arrived at Grand Prairie.

To your point about his class, I'd say that he has plenty; although it's true that he's a bit of a redneck - at least he was when he was at our school. His haircut was borderline mullet, he drove a brown 280ZX, and he had this incredibly gooney pair of carrera shades that to this day makes me laugh as I write about it. He wore them so much in the Texas sun that he looked like a f***ing raccoon when he took them off.

I think you know a lot about a man's character from his wife: Mrs. Bomar was a great woman with a lot of class.

I read somewhere we've already offered one Texas QB, was it Kinne or is it Chiles?

I'm not that impressed with the Skylar Travis guy.
He's not very tall- 6'1"
He doesn't appear to be very strong- 181 pounds and doesn't look like he has a lot a muscle in his picture
He's not very fast- 4.84 40 yard dash
His stats are not very impressive- even though the only stats rivals are showing of him right now are over his sophomore year, he had a 47% completion percentage and he doesn't even have a 2 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio.

Why does he interest you?
