Seems that I spent over 8 thousand out-of-pocket dollars on health-related crap last year and still owe.

Wife is getting better though.

Got a couple questions for a person in the know:

1. Building a house to sell this year.
Can I deduct last year's expenses on it although it had not sold yet?
If not, how does that work to recover last year's expenses on next year's taxes????

2. Had to travel for a job interview.
Airfare, car,etc. cost 900.00.
I don't have any documentation it was job-related but have my receipts.
Is that deductible?

1. No idea
2. I'm pretty sure job-hunting expenses are deductible but somebody more up to date on these things should be along shortly to answer.

My advice would be to be very 'aggressive' on your deductions. It's a very small chance you'll get audited. The IRS is severely understaffed.

Depends if they are actual expenses of creation of an asset.
