So they don't warn you when you're getting the Altima with the 17-inch alloy wheels that tires for the thing are expensive as crap.

I'm not real enthused about using the OEM tire, the Bridgestones i have now are really noisy. Was thinking about a set of Kumhos or something, but I'm not sure if the good reviews online are just a product of people being really cheap or not. Any help? Boarder?

Kumhos sounds like a porn site.

Are they Korean?

Boarder is the man for tires. Just an easy ride down Hwy 9 from Mustang.

Maybe you should have thought about the costs before joining the icy hot stuntaz.

Stay away from the kumhos....

Lady where I used to work put them on their ss350 impala, blow out.

I'm pretty sure that the positive speak they get on tire rack are from the reps.

You will get what you pay for, for the most part.

What size and speed rating are you shopping for?

Nope, they do cars. But he's been MIA of late.

Looking for 215/55R/17. Everything at that size has a speed rating that's ok with me (lowest I saw was 123 mph), so I'm basically looking for the quietest tire, as the Bridgestones I have now are loud as hell.

Nope, just got my Passat tires a couple of weeks ago.

Man, Sams shows 3 tires, all good year, 171-249 a tire.

Even Hibdons (bastards) just shows 3 makes, including your beloved Bridgestones.

Definitely call Darrin at LWM tomorrow.

You might try dunlop, I'm not a big fan of Yokohama....the tread wears fast.

I've had good luck with Toyos. I also dig the Goodrich tires I've got on the car now. They compare really favorably with the Michelins that were the OEMs, just at third off the price.

a while back i bought Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S tires for the Subaru for like $123 (now $131) from tirerack.com and they were 225/45/R-17's

they have been great (for all seasons anyway)

I make wire for tires for Goodyear, Michelin and Firestone. I would look at Goodyear they are the most quality conscious. Look at the different tread designs. The less radical the quieter!

That is all!:)

Hm... yeah, the way I drive I better look at something a bit more durable.

Looking on Tirerack.com, you've got everythign from the Korean porn one for 84/tire to 231/tire for Goodyear Eagles

Here are my choices if I was in your shoes, err, tires:

Yokohama Avid V4S 106/tire, with 4.5 star warranty rating
Pirelli P6 4 Season 133/tire, 3.5 star warranty rating (my experience w/Pirelli is that they're great tires, they just wear fast)
Yokohama Geolander H/T G035 133/tire, 4 star warranty rating

I think Boarder will say to get the latter. :lwm:
