All of you who think you're such morally superior "tolerant" liberal types should read this:

Idols For Destruction (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0891077383/qid=1138471874/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-2857476-1065554?s=books&v=glance&n=283155)

and this:

The Abolition of Man (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0060652942/ref=pd_sim_b_3/104-2857476-1065554?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=283155)

I consider myself to be tolerant and liberal but certainly not morally superior to anybody, not even you.

That being said, I'll give these books a look see.

I'll read that.

Don't have to. I have heard all that hogwash before many times. I love the bit about Jesus Christ not being mentioned in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Ya think? Given that they date to about 100 years before Jesus was born, and they are all Old Testament books and commentaries, if they did mention Jesus it would cast doubt on their veracity. They do mention the Messiah, of course.

Good grief. What crap people can get published these days.

I get along with people just fine. :D I just deplore the lack of education in government schools these days. Kids graduate not knowing how to think straight.

Excellent. Even if you don't agree with what they say, hopefully they'll give you some insight.

FWIW I have read some Nietzsche (boring stuff) and other philosophers of various schools, so I'm not opposed to getting opposing viewpoints, if you get my meaning.

Mine's crap, yours isn't.

As long as folks are recommending books and literature, etc. here's one that caught my eye.

I read the 2002 or 2003 version of that book and thought it was pretty good. If you don't think you are cynical enough about the national news media, read that book and you will be.

hmm, I don't know if I fit in that category, but you obviously aren't using the word "tolerant" to describe yourself.

I'll stick to Slaughterhouse Five, thanks.
