OKLAHOMA CITY -- A shooting in northwest Oklahoma City on Friday that resulted in the death of one man was justified, according to initial reports from metro police.

Officers said that a man broke into a home at 3101 NW Grand Blvd., when the owner of the home awakened from a nap and shot him.

Police said it does not appear that the resident will face any charges. They said it appears the shooting falls under Oklahoma's make-my-day laws, which allow residents to use lethal force on people breaking into their homes.

Investigators said they found a vehicle in the driveway of the home that was recently reported as stolen.

I wish this kind of thing happened more frequently. Maybe the idiot thieves would think twice before breaking into houses.

"Make-my-day" laws?

Shouldn't they be called "Don't-break-into-my-home" laws?

Great News!

Mrs. THA and I were watching old America's Most Wanted on the Tivo last night and she mentioned several times how a Glock or a Colt would have prevented several of those sad stories.

i guess if people weren't idiots they wouldn't be stealing cars and breaking into houses that contained people (especially armed ones)

Under what theory? Perhaps the "My scum sucking bottom-feeder relative broke into someone's home attempting to rob it when the homeowner cut short his young life which was so full of promise" theory?;)

I know a dude that lives in your area that is a real gun nut...I mean, class III registered machine guns, combat handguns, shotguns, assault weapons, the whole nine yards.

I wonder if this burglar happened to pick his house?

After libs ban guns, well just have to use knives.

See, this is why when I was a kid I figured out there wasn't a Santa Claus. If he existed I would have found a Santa corpse.
