Under terms of the NBA's collective bargaining agreement, any player testing positive for drugs of abuse (amphetamines, cocaine, LSD, opiates -- including heroin, codeine and morphine -- and PCP) can be disqualified from the NBA.

No wonder Bill Walton likes him so much.

please notice marijuana isn't on the list. if it were, 90% of the league would be suspended.

I liked how Desmond Mason wore a headband in tribute to Birdman tonight. Of course, if he carried around a crackpipe, it'd get in the way of shooting! :D

Actually, I wish Birdman a speedy recovery to his problem and I hope he learns from it and does well in the future.

CP wore a headband in Memphis in honor of #12, and they both wore them a la Birdman, with the NBA logo in the back. There were messages on quite a few players shoes giving it up to their former teammate.

...also, the 'bird' was being thrown up by almost every player.

I counted at least 8 signs with a 'we miss you' type theme to it. I was going to make one for tonight, but didn't have time. I should have one for Wednesday's game.

Yeah, after the game was over, they all high "birded" each other. Thought that was cool.

I am a little torn, though, since he brought it on himself by doing the drugs. I don't want it to be glorified.
