god i hate this place......the job search is on in earnest, they are cutting two middle managers this morning, and i was told yesterday I was almost one of them........my duties will likely change

the company is growing, and to pay for the new VP they just hired, they're covering his salary with the 2 they are letting go

ugh this just sucks.......

ugh

we went thru that twice at my last job. both times, half the employees went to one meeting and the other half went to another meeting. both times, i was in the "lucky" group that didn't get let go.

JK, I know that we sometimes don't see eye to eye on some things, but best of luck and I hope that you are spared and get the new job.

I work in the same building as WilTel in Tulsa, and they're letting just about everyone go. It's just weird to think that all those people know that, at most, they have 3 months. I'm very glad I work for a private firm.

Best of luck in your search, man. Don't let the stress get to you.

Sorry to hear that jk. That kind of crap is going on at my job, too, which is one of the reasons I'm leaving. 10 more days of work to go, then a week off before starting the new one.

Nice thing about this job is that my job performance is directly related to profit which is directly tied to my pay-so if I do well, then laying me off is inherently unproductive. Then again, if I do poorly, I'm going to be a poor bastard.
