View Full Version : Clothing question for the women

Melo

We're going to see this play at the theatre down town. I asked them about what to wear, and they said dressed up. My roomate says she wears dress pants and a nice shirt, and her friend says he wears slacks and a button down shirt. All of my clothes are either pretty casual or pretty dressy. I have one pair of dress pants, but they don't look too great with heels.

Is it better to go more dresed up than everyone else, or more casual.

For the record, if I dress nice, it would be a knee length black skirt, with some sort of non-revealing shirt, and a pair of heels. Would this be too dressed up?

TIA

Take two outfits.

Be fashionably late.

Drive by as people as are arriving to check it out.

Don't change in the lobby. ;)

Yes, you'll look extra classy...unless it's a sporting event--then you'll look extra stupid.

yep, wear the skirt and heels. If you're better dressed than the other people there you'll just look like you're wearing an awesome outfit.

um, I'm no woman but you need to turn some heads. short mini, and some fmp's are what you need to wear. oh, and a low cut top with a push up bra!

--evening performances of plays are generally more dressy. There will probably be teenagers or younger people in jeans, but if there are older folk there they will probably be wearing nice stuff.

well, what melo said she was going to wear will work if he's wearing slacks and a nice shirt, and it would work if he was wearing a suit. so I don't think it's a problem.

Then you definitely want to dress up. Formality mismatches on a date are awkward.

This is why college students are not allowed to complain on the SO about how tough they have it.

I signed up for that class when I was in college, before I saw the name written down. I thought I had found the best elective ever. As soon as I saw the official spelling, it was major droppage time.

So Melo, how was the play tonight?

Well, we ended up not going. I forget what the problem was. :( So we ended up going out to eat, we went to walmart (Yea, hot spot of Brenham!) and bought chalk, and then we came home. Me and my date went to the guys apartment behind us, and hung out with them for a little while, then later me and my roomate went and chalked up peoples sidewalks.

Anyone who spells theater "theatre" shouldn't need to ask how to dress.

Have I ever mentioned how delighted I am that God never blessed me with female children? Yes? Well let me just reiterate that position.

If all the young female units were like you, I'd gladly trade in all of my sons for a single PG. True story.

Unfortunately, most young chicks are just female versions of Stanley. You know, mega-losers?

2. You are very smart for not wanting to be like Stanley.

Oh it's a compliment. I'm merely saying one who has the linguistic skills to spell theater "theatre" is sure to have enough class and elegance to know exactly what to wear to precisely the right occasion. :D
