I was just in Vegas last weekend and they had the lines for who would be number one in the BCS (you can gamble on anything out there at any time for anyone who has never been there). There were three teams tied for first place, which should make for a great season next year (last year USC was supposedly a shoo in at 6-5). The three teams were...

Notre Dame 1-6
Oklahoma 1-6
Ohio State 1-6

Exited for some good football next season? I am.

I just can't see tOSU. They lose waaaay too much on defense. Great O, but championships are won and lost with the defense.

Thanks for the info, Irish!

Our OL will have to really step it up for us to finish unbeaten.

Close one?

They beat Navy 42-21 and have a 69-9 overall record against them.

Didn't we get taken into double over time against Baylor in our own house this year?

2004: 27-9
2003: 27-24
2002: 30-23 (ranked #9, come from behind win... impressive).
2001: 34-16
2000: 45-14 (we'll give 'em that one)
1999: 28-24
1998: 30-0 (we'll give 'em that one too)
1997: 21-17
1996: 54-27 (nice D)
1995: 35-17

i'm not all that impressed with ND vs. NAVY. especially given that navy is a 1AA team that actually has real academic entrance requirements. not the made up ones that ND always tries to tell us about for their football players.

Agreed, its one of the advantages to having the most prestigious program in college football. Its also a reason that college football should have playoffs instead of the BCS.

Its also a reason that college football should have playoffs instead of the BCS.I think a lot of people would like your team better if they weren't favored by the media so much, especially when they aren't worth a da*n, but fawned over anyway.I think most college football fans want a playoff.

Definitely agree with that. But as long as you have your top two hyped playmakers coming back, the media and/or general public will run with it.

They lose 9 out of 11 starters on defense. That's why I think we can beat them. They won't have everything straightened out by the second game of the year (first game vs. Northern Illinois).

But if they do get past us...there's not much to stop them next year. Look at their schedule...
9-2-06 NORTHERN ILLINOIS
9-9-06 at Texas
9-16-06 CINCINNATI
9-23-06 PENN STATE
9-30-06 at Iowa
10-7-06 BOWLING GREEN
10-14-06 at Michigan State
10-21-06 INDIANA
10-28-06 MINNESOTA
11-4-06 at Illinois
11-11-06 at Northwestern
11-18-06 MICHIGAN
