So after earning my boss 111,000.00 more in profit this year and only getting 4 k for it.

I find one of my coworkers earned him 50,000.00 more in profit and had a 6k pay cut.

Then he calls in our delivery guys, and tells them he wants a cut of all the extras they get paid for doing little extras for customers ie: moving a 250lbs TV upstairs to a different room etc....)

Now today, the SOB shows up in a 2006 custom pickup. AND then shows it to our main delivery guy and starts bragging about what it has , makes him sit in the new leather seats... etc....

I may have a stroke before this ends.

Thanks! I think our store would be a great fit for Okla City.

Ithink your main stores are Audio Diminsions, Ultimate (on the way out), Best Buy clerks and Circuit City (clerks) and maybe a few tiny guys like weathers, harrys etc.....

Keep in mind we are strictly retail in about 8000 sq ft and generate about 12 mil a year in sales.

It is just a squirrelly business.

oh, and 85 i appreciate all the input you gave me on the hdtv. I went home Sunday night and there was a 52" widescreen sittin' in the living room.

ALL of them in DFW are now empty shells. They basically expanded WAY too fast in an already crowded market.

52" inch????????? Which one?

Yeah ultimate spent way too much on fancy stores and fancy advertising and tried to undercut everyone. Now I have lots of people who bought things at ultimate down here (before they closed ) with problems and I just tell them, I am sorry they didn't buy it from us.

No I didn't ask for a raise because I am on straight commission. He is a greedy f&*k and admits it and I honestly believe it will come back to bite him eventually.

Ok wait a min. do you guys not have a comission plan? Ya know thats in writing?

I am also on straight commission and I have never heard of such a thing. How are you getting paid?

Seriously dude you need to find a new job.

It was an RCA.
I cannot complain. She did it for me and that makes me proud of her. she was really excited about doing it for me. I like the way it looks. It has the hd tuner and it darn sure looks good to me.
I am now the most popular guy in the family.

Since big bro transferred over control, they have been experimenting and nothing is in writing. Little bro is a tightwad, thinking he IS everything and he has no skills at managing or business. It WILL come back to haunt him. He spends his days now sitting in his chair with a cigar pretending to be a big shot ag=fter his brother has done a great job of running the family business for over 30 years. THis guy is not a big shot and has no Idea what he is doing. So you are right, I need to find a new job, but who would want a salesman who sells 2.5 million in product a year when a salesman who sells 500k ( thats a national average) a year is considered top notch?

oh great. can you get that after the purchase? i am quite sure she wouldn't purchase that at the time she bought it.

Well here is the facts. RCA makes some great performing products.

But they do tend to have problems with power supplies and tuners quite a bit. This is in reference that Thompson products (Scenium, Older Proscan, RCA and General electric) have the highest repair ratios re: consumer Reports (but with my experience, it is true.

Tell her to check with the store and inquire about it. If you have read many of my posts, I rarely recommend this but in your case I do.

Exactly. He could keep all of that $111,000 himself.

If you are selling 2.5 million dollars a year you can get a job anywhere. I don't care what it is that you are selling.

I don't know about you but if I'm just on straight commision and they start jacking with the way I'm paid. I would be raising holy hell especially if its not in writing. Bitch would be going all kinds of white trash crazyness up there.

Screw them man. If you are selling that much you should not have any trouble finding another job.

Believe it or not, Its the HR people that are the problem. BTW my wife is and HR specialist in texas and has been on the congressional board (before we had kids). HR is kinda in a fuzz mode for businesses. They get deluged everyday by people claiming this or that and they become numb and lost the "edge"

I do not want to work for a large co because I have and have been very successful BUT they do not want to promote you because you sell too much for them, on the other hand the execs don;t want you making as much as they do. (these are probably folks with a business degree that didn't study)

Catch 22

Ross Perot (as nutty as he is was right and has a book about it)

Good Salesmen. I mean good , honest (and I mean that) above board work hard and take care of people (customers) salesmen are rare commodities in this day and age. I am alot like Simon COwell. I will tell you the good and the bad and the ugly. BUT i am honest and you can trust my research and professionalism. Problem is, that is out of the norm and the HR departments are , well, about like Government processing stations. Look at the talent they hire?

I will keep trying and would love to come back to OKLA. or at least the Dallas area. However, I do expect to be paid for my services and that can be a problem. I am not unreasonable but If I make you an extra 111,000 in profit, I DO expect more than 4k especially when that is a 20% annual increase. jeesh I did work my A$$ off this year. SO FAR THIS YEAR I AM SITTING ON MY A$$ until this is resolved. Its the only way they may notice that something is wrong and inquire.

Don't know what else I can do but take their sales (increased profits ) away from them. Bad part is I take them away from me too, but then again I was not getting paid for that. Thus you can see the pattern and ultimate price for heir hitler.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. And I'm sorry but it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Companies make money when their reps sell. The more the reps sell the more money that the company and their managers make (managers gets bonuses by what their reps territory produces). So your thought process about companies not hiring sucessful reps is ludicris. Of course I have never worked retail so that may be what you are talking about.

I have also never been interviewed by "HR". I have worked for Lanier, Fowler Production in Norman, and now the 1 of the top 10 largest med/surg companies in the US. It was the managers and VP's, or the owners of the company that I interviewed with. Believe me they do not want reps who set on their asses. They want reps who sell. I happen to know that in my company now there are many reps who make more than their managers. That is what a good rep does.

As far as being honest thats a must in todays market. Building relationships with accounts is key in being sucessful. There is too much parity on the market to be full of bull****. The public for the most part are pretty savvy buyers and research the hell out of their purchases. The days of the consumate salesperson no longer applies. I find that my customers don't want to be "sold" and that's not my style. I don't go in for the hard sell. I build great relationships with my customers then find soloution for their problems (ya know what it says in the old sales books about "finding pain") its easy.

What you need to do is find a privately held company. The company that I work for now has several reps that are making almost a million dollars a year. Maybe my company is an anomoly (sp), but I have never run across what you are saying. I do know that alot of companies do not pay their reps what they are worth. I guess I got lucky with mine.

This guy is waiting for you to ask him for a raise. Go ask for it.

You made him lots of money. It'll hurt his pocketbook if you decide to find greener pastures. If he has any business sense he'll understand it's a good idea to keep you well compensated. If not, then you don't want to be working for him.

And like lilsooner says, good salesmen can get jobs ANYWHERE. Good ones nearly always move up the pay scale when switching jobs.

If it's the 52" RCA that is on sale at best buy this week, then yes. Best Buy lets you purchase the warranty up to 30 days from the date of purchase (last i checked)

Thanks for the support. I have relied on his trusty side kick to let him know the situation but that hasn't happened and I think I will now. We will see what happens.
