Yeah, I got it, but instead of a copy of the Sooner game I wanted, it was something called "Man Love 3: Hunks in Rio".

My problem is now I've got a tivo but how do I make dvd copies of things I record?

Tivo DVRs can record to DVD-Rs. You should have an option on your menu. Best quality usually takes 3-4 disks..at least for me they do.

Okay, I may be screwed, I've got DirecTV, but the dvr says Tivo on it.

GDC........I use this product http://pinnaclesys.com/publicsite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Advanced+Video+Solutions/Studio+AV_DV+Deluxe+version+9.htm

You can use RCA patch cords from the OUT on the back of the DVR and plug them in to the IN on Pinnacle and record raw to your HDD. You can also use Firewire if TiVo provides that capability. I have a Scientific Atlanta DVR and so am not familiar with TiVo but it's stone axe simple.
