So, I know some people (married couple - 30ish) that are travelling to Austin soon and they're looking for stuff to do. One thing in particular is to eat some good sushi - where should they go for that? They want to see some bands and stuff but they don't drink - what are some good musical venues where not everyone is acting a drunken fool?

They're not Sooners so any overabundance of Horns that might be somewhere shouldn't be much of a factor for them.

TIA.

What you and your friends do in Austin is your business.

Taking him for sushi afterwards is a nice thought though.

Sushi in Austin !?!?!?! That's like going to Boston, Mass. to get Tex-Mex.

I'm not a sushi guy, but Kenichi is the sushi place I've heard the most about. I think it's expensive, and I can't personally vouch for it, but it gets the most pub.

What kind of music do they like? Whatever it is, they'll probably be best served to stay away from the kids on 6th street.

For food and entertaiment: http://www.austin360.com/ Kenichi downtown is a fancy sushi place (Sandra Bullock's hangout with Jesse James). There are a lot of cheaper places though.

For music: http://www.austinchronicle.com/ Music at Antones (Austin's most famous blues club on 5th) or Continental Club (Elvis' old hangout) are always good.

As a devout non-horn, I've got to say that either Antone's or Continental Club would probably be good choices.

Me, I'm a jazz guy, so I'd say The Elephant Room, depending on who is playing.

Screw Stubb's, Rudy's is much better IMO.
