DALLAS — Oklahoma’s Courtney Paris was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Rookie of the Week while Tiffany Jackson (Texas) was named Philips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by a media voting panel for games played from Jan. 16-22.

It marks the fifth rookie award for Paris this season, which ties the single season record held by Jackson (2004), Megan Taylor of Iowa State (1998) and Jaynetta Saunders of Texas A&M (2000). It also sets a new Big 12 record for individual weekly awards in a season because Paris has also won the Big 12 Player of the Week on one occasion (Jan. 3). No other player in the 10 year existence of the Big 12 has claimed six weekly honors in one season.
