my roommate's computer has always been a POS, but i came home this weekend to find it's even more f'd up than before...
down in the lower right-hand corner by the time/date thing there is a blue globe w/ the windows symbol in it, and then a dialogue box popping out of it saying:
"your computer is infected!"
"Dangerous infection was detected on your PC
The system will now download and install most effictient
antimalware program to prevent data loss and your private
information theft.
Click here to protect your computer from the biggest malware
threats."
i've tried just closing it, but it pops back up about 5 seconds later...
but when i click on it, "Spyware Strike 2.5" pops up and says it has found 87 threats. but when i try to delete them like it says to it says we have to buy it online to do so...
is this "spyware strike" the real deal or is it part of the actual problem and any information we would submit be just like us being the baby and them taking our candy???
any info/help/advice will be greatly appreciated...
