Good for them. Too bad they have to go into THAT situation. Maybe if they do well, they can catch on with a REAL team.

Hey, man, that's how Corey Ivy made it into the league. Kelly Gregg and James Allen also kicked around the free agent pipeline for a couple of years. Gregg and Ivy have really done well for themselves.

James Allen? After rushing for 1100+ yards in 2000, he flaked out and tried to become a rapper:

HOUSTON – Running back James Allen, who retired two weeks ago to concentrate on his rap career, has decided he would like to rejoin the Houston Texans or another team interested in his services.

"Given the right set of circumstances, James will come back and play. And if they don't appear to be the right set of circumstances, apparently he won't," his agent, Steve Mandell, said Monday.

Mandell said Allen, who started five times last year for the Texans and split time with rookie Jonathan Wells after that, "decided he had a lot more football left in him" in the days after telling coach Dom Capers his heart wasn't in football anymore.

Since Allen's departure, the Texans appear set at running back with free agent acquisition Stacey Mack starting, rookie Tony Hollings getting time in certain situations and rookie Domanick Davis developing into a kick return specialist and possible third-down back.

The Texans have placed Allen, 28, on the reserved-retired list, meaning the team still holds his rights. As of now, the Oklahoma product must repay the $200,000 signing bonus he received in May for agreeing to a one-year contract.

Allen, who entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 1998, started 31 of his 66 career games in four seasons with the Chicago Bears and one with Houston. He amassed 2,497 rushing yards, 964 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns.

If he makes the Texans this year he might have to split time with that Reggie Bush guy. Congrats to the other guys for making the Oakland training camp. Does Kelly Greg have a superbowl ring?

"Does Kelly Greg have a superbowl ring?"
No. The Ravens won it in '00, & he joined them in '01. I'd like to KICK my Bengals for letting him get away in the first place. He is exactly what they need.

Kelly Gregg was on the practice squad for the Ravens in 00. He does have the ring for that year even though he wasn't officially a Ravan.

Maybe Duncan can do enough to impress another team or he can be a kickoff guy because Janikowski is about as good a fg kicker as you'll see in the NFL. I would think Tim's chances of making the team wouldn't be much.

Kelly Gregg DOES have a ring, I partied with him three weeks before that superbowl due to the fact that I used to room with one of his hs buddies. Nice guy, just got a big payday earlier this season
