You are quite talented.

I'm an artist sort of as well.

At least I get paid for it anyway.

please please no flattery or else the other artists here like Howzit will become ragingly jealous and start posting his post-modern kindergarten work!

just keeping you all updated. I'm off for lunch, will return soon to answer questions and naughty IMs.

I notice same as one posted before, this is also Indian-related.

Are you Native American?

What gives?

(Sorry, I'm sure that's terribly offensive)

And for the love of God, we can only hope Howzit is busy at work today, and doesn't have the time to "grace us" with his presence.

Remember, a frown is just an awkward smile turned upside down.

Nice. Y'ever apply for the Plaza Art Fair?
no, I've been to it though and funny you should ask because I'm thinking of doing it this year. the one in KC right? I saw Steven Tyler there one year.

Yeah, the one in KC. The last few years they've gone more for good art and less for the artsy-craftsy stuff. It'd be neat if you were accepted. I'll keep an eye out for ya.......

That is a stunning painting, Picasso.

If not for the yellow face paint and I didn't know your traditional subject matter, I would have assumed that he is Indonesian. At first, it looks like one of those white Indonesian hats. But, that's not a hat, is it? And, what is the significance of the leaf? And, why is he lucid dreamer?

picasso
1/21/2006, 06:46 PM
the hat is in the form of the otter fur turbans worn by southern plains tribes in the 19th century. this particular fella is an Osage. no meaning with the leaf afloat unless you care to add your own definition.
he's a lucid dreamer because you can see into his vivid mind perhaps?

just watched Kagemusha last night. I'm quite inspired.

oh and it's hard to tell from the small image but his face is also painted red.

I thought he had a head wound and the blood seeped through the bandage and then a gust of wind came up and blew a leaf which stuck to the bloody spot.

In other words, welcome to autumn.
