Yeah, I remember it. I also remember driving past the gas station where I usually bought gas, watching prices for regular gas soar past 40 cents a gallon. I told myself that once it gets to 50 cents/gal. I'm gonna stop driving.

I just wish we weren't being half-assed about it. I mean, if we're going to retain arbitrary units of measurement in other areas (inches, feet, yards, rods, chains, furlongs, miles, leagues, etc.) then why should our money sytem be so decimal? Let's bring back the farthing, shilling, and half-crown. Although we aren't a monarchy, so maybe that last one should actually be the half-***.
