"Baker Street" by Gerry Raferty. That one for me takes me back to a bad place at a bad time. 18 is not an easy age.

That song takes me back to really good times, but I was like 12 or so - before bills or puberty.

I'll say "Armageddon It" by Def Leppard reminds me of that b!tch....errr...I mean bad things.

As much as I like Ozzy I can't listen to "Mama I'm Coming Home".

A few years ago my brother-in-law went nuts (he was a druggie anyway) & stabbed my nephew (his son) to death and seriously injured my sister in their front yard in Norman. The cops arrived & shot him dead. I heard they played that at his funeral. So needless to say I turn it off if it comes on the radio. :(

"Bad Moon Risin'" by CCR. It was playing on the car radio in April of 1969, when one of my good friends from high school smashed his 1966 GTO into a huge tree up near Bartlesville. Killed him and two other friends.

I really can't listen to songs that deal with tragedy or something real horrible, like Bobby Goldsboro's "Honey" or David Geddes' "Run Joey Run." Even "Leader of the Pack" sort of crosses that line for me.

I'm a big Elton John fan, but to this day I can't listen to "Empty Garden," because he's singing about John Lennon shortly after he was murdered. Although I have listened to George Harrison's "All Those Years Ago" without any problems.

Also, for some reason, I can't make it through Minnie Riperton's "Loving You" because she died at an early age, but for some reason I have no problem listening to any of Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix or Janis Joplin's songs.

Seasons In The Sun

By Terry Jacks

Goodbye to you my trusted friend
We´ve known each other since we
Were nine or ten
Together we´ve climbed hills and trees
Learned of love and abc´s
Skinned our hearts and
Skinned our knees

Goodbye my friend it´s hard to die
When all the birds are singing
In the sky
Now that spring is in the air
Pretty girls are everywhere
Think of me and i´ll be there

we had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the sun
but the hills that we climbed were
just seasons out of time

goodbye papa please pray for me
i was the black sheep of the family
you tried to teach me right from wrong
too much wine and too much song
wonder how i got along

goodbye papa it´s hard to die
when all the birds are singing in the sky
now that the spring is in the air
little children everywhere
when you see them i´ll be there

we had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the sun
but the wine and the songs like the
seasons have all gone
we had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the sun
but the wine and the song like
the seasons have all gone

goodbye michelle my little one
you gave me love and helped
me find the sun
and every time that i was down
you would always come around
and get my feet back on
the ground

goodbye michelle it´s hard to die
when all the birds are singing in
the sky
now that the spring is in the air
with the flowers everywhere
i wish that we could both be there

we had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the sun
but the hills that we climbed were
just seasons out of time

we had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the sun
but the wine and the song like the
seasons have all gone

we had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the sun
but the wine and the song like the
seasons have all gone

we had joy we had fun we had
seasons in the sun
but the wine and the song like the
seasons have all gone

"Groove is in the Heart" --Deee-Lite

There are lots of songs from around the same time frame, '90-'91, but this one is probably the worst for me.

Most disco songs remind me of my crappy junior high years.

Can't listen to Chicago or Dan Fogelberg at all, due to an ex-gf liking that stuff and playing it all the time on the radio. Bad breakup. I think that one drove me to heavy metal.

"The End" by the Doors, of course, makes me think of Apocalypse Now, a great movie about bad things.

That's the name of the song, not what happened.

"It Was Almost Like a Song," by Ronnie Milsap, reminds me of my parents' divorce.

I was only three at the time, so I didn't really know what was going on, but I knew it was sad, and that that was a sad song.

The Long and Winding Road reminds me that I broke up with my "one true love" (i.e. HS sweetheart). But I can listen to it all the way through without losing it these days.
